Ethan Buchman is a Canadian software engineer, researcher and expert on crypto currency and blockchain technology. He is the founder of Tendermint.
Ethan Buchman is Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Tendermint, a Byzantine Fault Tolerant blockchain consensus that replicates in any programming language. Buchman is also chief at CoinCulture CryptoConsulting, an Ontario-based consultancy that advocates for the adoption of cryptocurrency and operates bitcoin ATMs.
A self-described internet biophysicist, Buchman’s aim is to help people self-organize into functional systems.
Buchman is currently working on a network of blockchains called Cosmos that is built on Tendermint to enable more general-purpose use.
He previously performed for a year and a half as a core developer and lead blockchain engineer at Eris Industries. Now called Monax, this blockchain and smart contract software technology company was founded in 2014.
Buchman has been a speaker for Blockchain Workshops and the Digital Banking Leadership Council. He also teaches workshops on cryptocurrency and blockchain development. Buchman is scheduled to appear at the 2018 Digital Media Summit in Toronto.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and ran for Member of Parliament with the Libertarian Party in Canada’s 2015 federal election.
