Mark Cuban is a businessman and investor. He is currently an advisor to the Mercury Protocol.
Entrepreneur Mark Cuban is an advisor to the Mercury Protocol, an open-source project for communication platforms built on the ethereum blockchain. Mercury is currently utilised by messenger app Dust, with Broadcast, a social media platform that targets online harassment, also in the pipeline.
Cuban has also started and invested in a number of other businesses throughout his career, including a number of crypto-based ventures. In 2017, for example, he invested in the presale of UnikoinGold, an ERC20 token from e-sports betting platform Unikrn, one of Cuban’s portfolio companies.
While completing his Bachelor’s degree in Management at Indiana University, Cuban had a number of business ventures, including owning a bar. In the 1980s, he started MicroSolutions, a computer consulting service, eventually selling the company to CompuServe in 1990. In 1995, Cuban and friend Todd Wagner started Audionet, an internet audio-streaming service for college basketball. Audionet later became Broadcast.com, which was acquired by Yahoo in 1999.
Cuban has been the owner of the Dallas Mavericks since 2000. He is chairman and CEO of cable network AXS TV, and is also an entrepreneur on investment reality TV show Shark Tank.
